The souls series could benefit from a lot of different modes for fun, as well as a fleshed out arena mode, and not the tacked on one in DaS2, and the shit one in DaS3. Especially for DaS1 and DaS2 where different builds and weapon/armor combos could make for interesting fights and results.

If there was a boss rush mode, would anyone play the rest of the game? Would the bosses lose a lot of their standing appeal, without the preceding level to give them context? I always get motivated to fuck up a certain Dark Souls 3 boss because of spoiler pic related

Nah that's retarded, the only DaS who had a good reason not to have a boss rush was 2 and this is because of the ascetics mechanic. Just lock it behind end game and give the player some good rewards for beating it without using Estus or healing spells and stuff like that and it'd be tons of fun.

Pvp not shit like DaS3, Covenants as good or better than DaS1, and an even more robust version of the new game + DaS2 had would make for a really good souls game. It'd also need a lot of build variety like DaS1 and DaS2 had as well.
