It's funny and sad how badly map design fucked that game up.

>Cool map areas get used only once (hospital, weapon factory were they develop the virus, etc)

On top of that, there are very little dynamic events to keep things interesting.

The overall world map design isn't bad, it feels natural, but the bases and whatnot are awfully stale. You only get to play on areas with vertical design on the motherbase invasion thing.

Other than that, the game is really good… unfortunately, the map design is pretty fucking important.

Mods are okay so long as you don't do anything weird like bring custom modded weapons or things you're normally not allowed to use into FOBs. I think Infinite Heaven disables itself when you do FOB stuff so maybe it's okay.

Also apparently Konami used to ban people who had too many S++ rank soldiers, but I haven't been banned yet so maybe they don't moderate it anymore.

Mods that I use:

>Infinite Heaven (obviously)

>Multi Quiet Player Mod (just to play some missions seeing that ass with the rain model)

>Several retexture mods (mostly for all stealth suits)

>Enhanced Suppressors (they last more)

>Female Faces and Hairs (make women soldier not as hideous)

>Instant Deployment/Development/Platforms (a life saver, I don't care how much it breaks what little balance the game had)

>Morbid's Side-Op expansion pack (50 extra side-ops, they're poorly balanced though, putting a huge density of enemies that make ghost approaches impossible)

>all kind of model replacers for Venom when I feel like changing: From MGS 2 Raiden to real BB to Solid Snake to whatev

>No health regen

>Outfits unlock (I play pirate so I have to use this to access online-only items)

>Provisional showers (turn every toilet into a shower, so you don't need to go back to as much)

>R&D Heaven (same as outfits unlock but for items)

and that's about it. It improves the game a fair bit but it doesn't make it a masterpiece. Infinite Heaven is a must tho
