I tried Home out a couple of times. Streaming movies on a TV on the wall of a digital house and watching my avatar watch it in third person was interesting, kind of. Like the novelty of the absurdity made it something worth experiencing and studying for a little while. I can't really explain it. I watched about half of some ancient Jackie Chan movie, I think.
The other time I wandered around the public areas and found a dance club. There was a dude with his avatar standing alone in the corner of the club, so I went over to him and just started shooting the shit. This mother fucker actually told me that he wanted to be alone and then walked to the other corner - in a social network virtual dance club, he wanted to be alone. That's next level emo shit right there, so instead I followed him and started talking about vegetables and we ended up having a 30 minute chat about asparagus.
That was Playstation Home. I kind of miss it. I never would have logged in a third time, but I'm a little sad knowing that such a bizarre fucked up little world has now been erased forever. It should be in a museum.
