After watching Spread when it aired, I was disappointed with it. The threads at the time were full of such wild and exciting speculation that I missed a lot of the more subtle direction and story telling. Spread is anti-climatic when compared to Infected but that is because it's supposed to be. The end of Infected is Ruuko coming to a conclusion that leads her to failure because it's not the right choice. Its legal to use proxies for level zeros, of which all the ??? rares are, so i severely doubt it.
Also alternate prints of cards that have been changed in some way(like an errata) are usually legal in card games,

I just realized the new Hanayo is written differently,
it seems that shes in a similar situation to Suiko, they switched
the first kanji of their names to another kanji that can be used in the same fashion, Hanayo "Allos" is written 華代, while the original Hanayo was written 花代,
both of these can be translated to Hanayo and still have the same meaning,
Suiko has the same gimmick, however Tama is written in katakana so i wonder,
how her name will be different, maybe her name will be written in Kanji or something.
Also i can't really think of any way to change Hanayo "allos"'s name in English;
Kedai and Katai sound dumb, although maybe Hanaka works,
I don't know if that's a legitimate reading however.

From my little experience regarding the economics of animation studios, the one who eat the losses are the producers and the animation studios are just vehicles to make them real. Or it could be someone Sumida knew,
we won't know until one of the two says something and Sumida may or may not be dead,
so the chance of it ever being said what Guzuko is based off of is halved.
Although Sumida has a decent chance of survival due to Satomi surviving the process,

I don't think it was originally what was planned. IIRC at the end of Incited there was a short interlude where Lostorage Incited WIXOSS turned into Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS. The font of the Lostorage logo was unchanged and didn't include any of the font used for Selector. I think it might have also implied the the second series of Lostorage was going to be a split cour, like Infected and Spread. I later remember watching one of the abema.tv Wixoss streams where it was announced that the second cour of Lostorage was delayed until 2018. Maybe there's an unfinished version of what Conflated would have been if Incited was well received.
