>developer-hostile
stay mad. the point of an app, and a distro, is to support users. developers exist to support that goal.
>The people complaining that it's broken aren't the ones fixing it
tough shit. Maybe find a better job, you don't sound like your cut out for OSS development.
>adwaita-dark doesn't count
What if I wanted adwaita-dark-but-not-too-dark? What if I wanted adwaita-but-with-slightly-bigger-buttons?
>they are very close to adwaita code wise
so theme developers should shadow adwaita. Sounds like a theming api to me
>there's a finite number of them
there a finite number of custom themes. just a much larger number.
>they are part of the same design language
this is what really pisses me off. developers are allowed to fuck around with design language, but it's verboten for distros?
>“Users” want a lot of things, but just because you want something impossible that doesn’t make it possible.
Suck dicks
>No matter what we come up with though, I think it’s crucial that we start taking the needs of app developers seriously. Developers are the lifeblood of any platform, and we’ve been treating them very poorly. If we want to grow our ecosystem and actually compete with other major platforms, we need to fix that.
Sounds like a plan. Step one is to create an actual fucking theming api, because users are going to theme anyways, and you're only screwing over devs if you don't have a stable api they can write against.
