Stop thinking that great programmers have magical powers and that they acheived these powers by performing a set of magic tasks. You want to be good at programming you do the same thing you do to get good at anything, you study and practice with the intent to get better. Solve problems, actual problems, reveiw your old code and programs, study ways to improve what you do, study ways to do something you haven't done before and think critically about the art of actually programming. I could say more but the fact of the matter is that if you are asking here how to become a great programmer you are to busy looking for magic solutions or ideal pathways than actually putting in the work neccessary to actually learn, to actually become great.
