Anyone else collect them? Was just disassembling my old PS3 after recovering it from a YLOD hoping to re-case it but realized it was more trouble than it was worth (it was bricked and the only way to unbrick was to use Safe Mode which required an official controller that is 40 fucking dollars used and I only played 20 bucks for this thing. Plus I had no thermal paste in me to reapply to the heat sink) so I prayed the metal heat spreaders off the chips and threw the rest away salvaging only the HDD. Thinking of making these into a keychain or something

There was no saving this machine my dude, the case was already fucked, the HDD caddy was fucked, the wifi was fucked and it had no Blu-ray drive. I could've made a custom case and hunted down everything I needed but it was more effort than it was worth since I only payed 20 bucks for this thing

Not to mention I had to bake the motherboard in an oven to reflow the IHS solder just to get it to boot without a yellow light of death, I could've taken it to a repair shop to have to reballed properly, but that would've ran me 100 bucks
