Do you own any smart devices or have you created any form of home automation?

No. I wonder though, how much longer will they make non-smart TVs? Then again, I don't care for TV, so I guess I could just buy a large computer monitor and use that for watching my chinese cartoons on.

>no escape from the botnet

I know. Fucking glow-in-the-dark nigger kikes.

I was going to use an IR emitter hooked up to my computer to control the lighting on these cheap LED lightbulbs and synchronize them with redshift but I gave up pretty quickly on that project. Having half a dozen of these remotes lying around works just as well.

I feel like I have to stock up on these older models that use IR as all the newer ones are using wifi. Eventually they'll have motion detectors and microphones built in as well.

The 4-pack on Amazon has each bulb coming with it's own remote. Could I use just one remote to control them all?

You won't believe me but I put exactly the same bulb and controller in the trash a 30 minutes ago. Really useless stuff.

On the topic. I wish there is a way to automate watering flowers.

All of the big brands are going the (((smart))) route. I've seen a few 'dumb' models in stores, but they're all from Chinese companies you've never heard of. A monitor is a good replacement, but you could get a larger TV for a similar price if you look second-hand. Pawn shop, garage sales, online, etc.

Damn straight. Mentats are the way to go. Failing that, your Mexican maid will do just fine.

At this point you're better off getting a Smart TV and just never connecting it to the internet.

There is. It's called hiring a Guatemalan.

 No.961394

If every new TV is "smart" why TV boxes are still a thing? It's redundant functionality.

It's called not being a lazy faggot and just doing it yourself. Also reminder that it is your civic duty to report Guatemalan/ Mexican/ Generic Central American gardeners to ICE wherever you find them.

Nah, more like outsourcing.

Of course you can. Those remotes are all the same and work with LED strips as well. If you use standard IR remotes for other electronics have it could interfere with the lightbulbs though.

They're fine if you live in a small appartment and have tons of light fixtures and lamps to bounce the spot lights around. In a bigger area they're no good.

>>961345

Assuming they're indoor plants I'd just get one of these I've heard good things about them. Instead of watering each plant you just plug these into a giant bucket full of water and fill it every month. The water wicks in depending on how moist the soil is so it's automatic.

I live on a 120 acre estate. I understand if your time isn't as valuable as mine, pleb.
