Why are standards documents and companies full of the most homo bullshit practices? After following a bunch of links from VESA's site, you get to some bullshit file hosting website with a bunch of PDFs and Excel files
https://vesa.org/vesa-standards/
->
https://fs16.formsite.com/VESA/form714826558/secure_index.html
(have to fill out full name, country, and email to get through, but can mash they keyboard with hand)
->
https://app.box.com/s/vcocw3z73ta09txiskj7cnk6289j356b
(modern web 5.0 website, browser almost crashes each time you move the scroll bar, tries to load files into shitty JS-based version so you have to wait for the browser to stop GCing before being able to press the download button)
And VESA used to charge $350 to get the stupid GTF standard.
Then C89 costs $200 or is "withdrawn" and thus "no longer avaiable", etc. Then ITU-T Recommendation T.81 for JPEG is full of jargon and bullshit. For an experiment, I implemented decompressors for PNG and then JPEG from reading the two standards alone without any other reading/researching. PNG was harder because it required implementing DEFLATE, which is by far one of the most autistic, jaron filled, ambiguous, piece of shit I've ever seen. It was literally easier to implement JPEG (which is far more complicated and still has a bullshit spec) than DEFLATE. How can people even do anything on computers when it's almost impossible to even get specs for anything, and when you do, they are complete crap.
