Transhumanism, is it the future? what do you guys think?

 No.922966>>922987

No, it assumes humans will transcend into something else. That's milleniarism and just another cult, this time assuming by power of fedoras and intellect humans will finally become truly supreme gentlemen. Soviets, Mao and PolPot all tried to birth new soviet human, transhumanism is in same category. I bet most of its practicioners are childless genx sociopaths and edgy teens who played too much Deus Ex but never to end.

Yes, it is the future and it's as bleak as you can imagine.

So we looked at the data...

 No.923113

Humans and technology have always existed together and shaped each other. The ability to contact anyone in the world at any time and access a global knowledge database is more significant than the ability to do that using an implant or whatever, and it's already changing the way we think and interact with the world. There'll be more, but it has already begun, and to some extent, it has been happening for centuries.

The only issue with transhumanism is that it sometimes sees all this happening in the future rather than the present.

Too many things are called "transhumanism". Cyborgization? Life extension?

transhumanism is cool if you're 16 and haven't realized how hampered we are by medical regulations and medical ethics.

It will take hundreds of years at this rate, even with massive technology breakthroughs including neural laces. The US government just killed some CRISPR research on human stuff.

China is our only hope.

>he thinks we are actually giving up CRISPR

>he believes the news

Are you actually retarded or just a shill? There's things going on that even none of us can understand. Giving up genetic engineering is suicide. It's a touchy subject and there's always another flip side to these stories.
