I get the feeling that if you have to ask this question I would say, no. Take out the HD, procure another laptop and swap HD, else, goto v&.

Ever heard of a USB keyboard? Also, if it's encrypted (truly so) yes. I doubt your local guy works for the NSA. Anyways, as the first post said, you could just remove the HDD.
