My own Tor won't stop connecting to this specific IP.

As you can see, it's owned by Wikimedia and is based in California.

Anyone have any actually safe alternatives?

>There are people who think TOR isn't comprised

Of course it's comprised. Of source code, like all software.

>My own Tor won't stop connecting to this specific IP.

What's your "own Tor"? You mean the tor daemon? Running purely as a client? Or a relay? Or a bridge? Or an exit?

>As you can see, it's owned by Wikimedia and is based in California.

Oh, heavens. Save us!

>Anyone have any actually safe alternatives?

Kill yourself. You'll never have to worry about anonymity (or anything else) ever again. 100% safe, m8.

I think you jusut aren't aware of how Tor works.

You do realize that the whole point of Tor is that it doesn't directly connect to the servers you want to connect to, and that it therefore necessarily connects to other servers, right?

What is your own Tor? Are you talking about the tbb?

Of course i meant running as a client. The first relay is always that one IP address.

Launch the tbb and stop it before the loading bar is full.

It's because you use Windows 10.

It's called Guard Node. You can change it by inserting custom bridges, preferably obfuscated. But if you didn't do it already, congrats on getting on the list.

And don't forget about

ExcludeNodes {US}

Researchers do find theoretical attacks from time to time, idiots who don't have a clue how Tor works don't. You're like the guy who is scared some website has his VPN's IP.

>actually safe alternatives?

Nothing is perfectly safe. Some alternatives: I2P, Freenet.
