Non /tech/ fag here, is this decentralized network actually feasible or is it just a pipe dream? Especially now with millions more connected devices?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netsukuku

>Netsukuku is the name of an experimental peer-to-peer routing system, developed by the FreakNet MediaLab (in Italian) in 2005, created to build up a distributed network, anonymous and censorship-free, fully independent but not necessarily separated from the Internet, without the support of any server, ISP and no central authority.

>Netsukuku is designed to handle up to 2128 nodes without any servers or central systems, with minimal CPU and memory resources. This mesh network can be built using existing network infrastructure components such as Wi-Fi.

>The project has been in slow development since 2005, never abandoning a beta state. It has also never been tested on large scale.

Hi FBI.

It is not possible, networks do not scale.

Not possible. Technology aside, it'd be distributed authority and at best be able to work in a might makes right manner. E.g., imagine preventing someone DoSing. There's no one to call with the authority to shut-it-down as if there was it'd be just as censored as traditional internet but with shittier links. If you attempted to rig something up with cryptocurrency then whoever has the most money could just blow everyone else off the network. The libertarian dream of "but this will cause more investment in DoS and the network will grow!" doesn't fucking work because once it starts people will leave and the value of doing so will decrease.

nobody here has used ZeroNet?

It is actually very nice to use. And fast. and easy for normies. Having numbers makes meshnets work.

The ZN culture is somewhat different than many of the other othernets but its cozy

>is this decentralized network actually feasible

yes, the only real problem is sybil attacks which don't matter to normies compared to the security levels they already demand / put up with
