what the fuck. a pet name system is 5 lines of code. the fact that there is some desire for a retarded central name service indicates that they're doing shit wrong. can you even give someone (their public key) a name on that and see them as the name from then on?

Web browsers aren't real open source. The Web is some stupid corporate media publishing platform like Flash or Silverlight (I know, they run on web but that's irrelevant) where a bunch of random API and shit are added to suit some comanies' ephemeral needs. There's no standard way to do anything in the web. Everything is de facto and constantly changes because of last week's fad or worse yet because they need to patch the security hole of the hour. There's no way to do anything on this platform in a meaningful way that's guaranteed to work _securely_ in 10 years from now. At best you can use some basic tags like b p h1 h2 img etc to make a simple document which will probably still be readable, and has no security implications (beyond your reader being garbage) because it's just a static document. And then for some reason you list uBlock, the most irrelevant open source project ever made which only exists as a shitty bandaid to the misconception that is the web. It's literally better to just do javascript.disabled=0 and use a separate profile for the 1 or 2 things that neeed JS but muh noscript^H^H^H uBlock meme. It's also funny because the noscript retards didn't even understrand what the purpose of noscript was (a shitty firewall to prevent XSS, CSRF, clickjacking, etc).
