Why wouldn't you just create the wallet on your computer? I don't use it, but you install the program, and then wait for it to download the ledger... which is every fucking transaction that has ever taken place (oh yeah that'll fucking scale). Of course you have to backup your wallet, or you lose meme coins.

isn't the BTC chain 500GB by now?

do you have to download all of that shit?

what a fucking meme

You really do. Which is why it forces nearly everyone into using a (((3rd party))) online wallet. Especially if you plan to use a phone to manage your coins.

Looked into it more, and it seem phone users can manage the their wallet locally, but they are dependent on third party to verify transactions and hold the ledger for them. I'm sure this comes at some cost of anonymity.

Bullshit.

This is true.

How is what anon said bullshit?

The blockchain is huge at at least 150 GB,

and it will only get bigger.

How will a normal, everyday joe be able to

store 100's or 1000's of GB, or TB, when it

gets that big? Will they own a dedicated

machine just for blockchain? Most people

won't do that.

How does Electrum benefit for providing a ledger to everyone? Do you have to share intimate personal details? Do they take a percentage of any transactions?
