What are /tech/'s findings on Firefox performance on FreeBSD? Specifically heavy performance. I tend to have 100 - 300 tabs open in multiple windows daily and in Linux it only lags because I run out of memory. How does this compare to FreeBSD?

I'm waiting if there's someone continuing Palemoon, it's been dropped since no one is on it.

Tried to compile it from source, it works with some.mozconfig or something so that it fits the FreeBSD hierarchy

The problem is at the start it just create billions of threads and eventually die, so far I don't have time to dig deep enough and bugfix it.

how much memory do you have?

i've had a pretty experience with firefox (newer versions) and a lot of tabs (even on older hardware)

16 Gb, but 5.6 gb are used up for a Windows 10 vm most of the time.

Plus an ssd which significantly helped whenever swapping occurred because I could more easily close tabs than if on a 5400 rpm hdd.
