I found my old Technics sl-1500 in my basement and would like to get it running. I need to replace the needle and it is missing the resting hook for the arm. Does anyone know a needle that will work for this turntable and if the rest is replaceable? I am also assuming the best place to find a receiver is Craigslist or pawn shops?

Pawn shops will rip you off. Craigslist is okay, but there's less assurance.

You might find some specialty online shops that carry old needles (as well as other equipment for old music stuff), but it might be a bit more expensive.

Seriously? Just get on ebay for the parts. You don't need a specialty shop. I used to run Shure M44-7 needles until I upgraded to ortofon nightclubs. There are probably other needles that are better for sound but these are for DJ use. Check out offerup and cl for the receiver. Those tables are bulletproof and will last forever.
