It's probably supposed total letter count or something like that.

No one on earth knows what 2000 post length is.

And what's number of posts? According to the graph it must be number of posts measured.

And I would like to point out that the letter count could vary between years and that the total letter count since inception of a board is not measurable since the posts are gone.
