Iv been looking for actuators for my project.

I need an actuator that can travel 40cm within a second and have about 100kgf, both hydrolic and electric (dc motor) are too slow, pneumatic may do the job but i'd rather have something simple, the doesn't require a compressor and a tank.

I tryed googling electro magnetic actuators but beside control valve system it seems that they don't exist.

Why is that ?, what downside do they have ?.

For the record an electro magnetic actuator would work the same way a speaker does.

Protip: you can know it's French because OP puts a space before "?".

Is this standard to the French language or just to a specific nation?

This is not an easy problem, but in most simple form you can calculate magnetic force by using F = B^2 * A / (2u0) (eq. 1) (B is flux density in T, u0 permeability of vacuum). Problem here is that you can get high force only with increase of the area since magnetic materials saturate at 2 T. If I understood your problem correctly you want to move 100 kg object 40 cm in 1 s. That would require about 80 N of constant force (assuming no friction and external forces, object slides freely on the ground). Plugging in numbers in to equation (eq .1) yields area of 50 um^2, which is area of 7x7 mm square, which seems awesome unitl you realize that this is only valid if objects are very close to each other (think electromagnet that lifts cars at scrapyard). As soon as you apply some distance force exerted drops off very quickly pic related. For speakers this is not a problem since movement is relatively small, but for use as an actuator this is a problem. There are some commercial solutions namely voice coil actuator, but they have short stroke and are weak http://www.moticont.com/linear-motor-with-bearing.htm Pneumatic solution is probably a better choice.

i found this https://www.kunlintech.com/product/tubular-linear-motor/#tab-c0cdc1f35fc97e6cfad

seems to be what im looking for however i have doubts about is efficiency.

how much of my electiricity will be turned into heat instead of kenetic energy.

can't really go go for pneumatic after reading how horribly ineficent they are, also notoriously unrealiable.

i wish there was a chart to compare.

There will be high I^2 R losses, but that's the cost of the performance. It shouldn't be too bad if you only need pulsed power, but since they state:

>360 degree surounded water cooling structure realizes the best thermal conductivity efficiency

It'll probably get quite hot if you need holding force. I would imagine those motors aren't exactly cheap either.

no, no holding force, constante move back and forth

Anybody could be an engineer if everything they could imagine was an off the shelf part. Your duty is not to work within the confines of your imagination, it's to work within the confines of reality. 40cm within a second, magnetically sounds like the pipe dream of somebody who hasn't started with what they have.

I know it's normal in France, no idea if it's part of the language elsewhere.

Motor, gearbox, timing belt. Maybe some kind of linear guide. Size according to requirements.

Alternatively search for an off the shelf solution.

Your specs describe a 400 watt (mechanical) device so it should be trivial to build using off-the-shelf electric motors, guide rails, and lead screw or timing belt, whichever you prefer. For example, you can use a servo rated for 800 watt directly driving a lead screw, nut being attached to an extension rod. Alternatively, you can use the same servo to drive a timing pulley, with the belt stretched across the actuator body, and extension rod connected to the middle of the timing belt on one side.

That's a little out of the "off-the-shelf" league, you'll have to build it yourself. But individual parts are well within such league so you don't need to actually forge your own guide rails or build a motor.
