What do you have installed in your case's front bays (5.25"/3.25")?
Or are you one of the neophytes who uses a case without any bays but just front fans?

I got a 3.5" + 2.5" adapter so I can add an HDD and an SSD into one of my drive bays, hopefully I can get my old BD drive in as well

Problem with those types of adapters is that the SATA connector on drives is not designed to be replugged often but only sparingly - it will quickly wear out if drives are swapped often, leading to a bad and unreliable connection (UDMA CRC errors will start appearing in SMART). e-sata was designed to be hot-swappable - either that, or an USB enclosure.

I had one of those and then upgraded to one of these. Worked great for bedroom music making. My only complaint is that the digital converts in the front panel/bay were inferior to the ones on the card itself. Now I've got a Presonus interface.

My autism won't let me consider anything but an external DAC fed by optical TosLink for fear of interference

Why not both?

Nothing. I threw out my DVD burner because I hate cable management and it didn't like my BCLK OC.

What good card reader for a 5.25" bay can you recommend? Looked at some but they seem to support SD cards of only up to 64MiB, why is that? What do you use to read larger cards?

drawer for my screwdrivers, usb keys, loose screws, etc, and of course a disc drive
would definitely get a second drawer and a 3.5" + 2.5" drive slot if I had the room for it
