>multi-monitor tiling window managers

I'd like to get started using i3/awesome/dwm as my window manager. I have two monitors--will this be problem. Tiling window managers have quite sparse content on forums and youtube, apart from the documentation provided with the window manager where can i learn how to use one?

Not sure about the docs, but here's my experience:

Only tiling WMs seem to work well with multiple-independent-monitors setup.

I use i3, and I added several shortcuts for 'send workspace to output X'.

As long as you don't ever need to stretch a window over several monitors, this works best.

I still try once in a while to get this behaviour in the KDE/Gnome/LXDE setup, but to no success yet.

Side bonus: use 'arandr' for configuring the monitors. It can output each setup in a config file which is simply a shellscript. Particularly useful if you often switch between several setups (e.g. single-monitor, multi-monitor, projector).

It's a demo, not a realistic everyday sample.

Are all these low quality threads getting bump locked because some janitor doesn't have permission to delete posts?

It's actually right on when it comes to situations where you have more then 2 terminals open.

I often find myself using the stacking mode in i3 just to avoid all the retarded clutter.

I use screen and never have more than 3 terminals open.

Go use tmux.
