 No.9186[Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

As some of you may or may not know, on April 1st 2006, the official Star Wars Databank claimed that the film Willow took place in the Star Wars setting, and that the setting of Andowyne was a planet in the Outer Rim. But as expected, the next day they revealed that it was all just an April Fool's prank. However, what would your thoughts have been if that had not been the case? What if Willow really had been a part of the SW galaxy? Even though it might seem a little too "fantasy" for SW in the eyes of normalfags, those familiar with Ewok lore and the presence of witches (not just those fucking dathomirians) in the galaxy that the events of Willow might not be too farfetched within the setting, and honestly George himself even said that a lot of shit in Willow was inspired by material in the Ewok films and cartoon. But the main question is, would you welcome Willow or would you rather the two settings remained separate so as to maintain the purity of Willow as an enchanted world free of Ayys that could destroy them in an instant with orbital death canons?

Forgot to add, I should have also mentioned that I wouldn't have minded it all as I'm someone who liked the first ewok movie and related media. However, I feel the world would work better if it were in the Unknown Regions or was an extra-galactic destination, as the main SW galaxy has two smaller galaxies orbiting around it that were hardly ever explored in other media.

I honestly thought Andowyne was on Endor when I was younger. Anyway, I would much rather have Willow be a part of Star Wars than ET.

i always felt that cameo was basically an older willow.

tying into this, andowyne could be in the outer rim or unknown regions.
