As much as I hate Disney for what it did, let's think about the positives at the very least.
1: The Expanded Universe being separated into its own canon means that Disney can't butcher it outside of SWTOR which is already shit. Best they can do is take names and characters and butcher them in their new stuff, but they can't mess with their original incarnations like making Kyle a jock moron and "evil sexist" who needs Ors to hold his hand at all times.
2: No diversity or modern politics in any of our old problematic stories and interactive material that are rich in depth and RPG fuel for countless /tg/ possibilities.
3: No more monthly EU releases, thus giving us and many other true fans time to catch up on stuff we haven't finished.
4: We now know who the true dissenters and traitors were among the fanbase when they admitted to never really liking SW or the EU on shit holes like Jedi Council and Wookieepedia who pretended to be SW and EU fans yet quickly discarded them for the sake of politics or Disney shilling, thus purging old fans of the disgraceful fake fans who probably only ever played Kotor and pretended to read books.
5: If Disney re-canonizes the EU, then they likely won't make their nu-canon not canon. Instead they'll try to merge both "Canon" and "Legends" into one clusterfucked continuity, like Clone Wars did with its own unique lore-breaking bullshit it did half the time, like Ryloth now having a normal orbit and being another generic desert planet with some rainforest or the Rattataki; so we'd be forced to deal with Rey being canon and "Ben Solo" being Anakin Solo's clone or some dumb shit.
With the positives out of the way. The best result for us would've been for George to have not acted like a retard and sold/given control of the IP to someone who gave a shit about SW, like Luceno and possibly Zahn (and maybe Chee, even though he's an imperial-hating pussy) or set up a story team with strict credentials/views that only allowed certain like minded people that matched Lucas or Luceno's interests to ensure stability for the franchise for generations to come, and Luceno knows exactly what we like so there'd be no danger for the remainder of his life as Tarkin had everything I could ever hope for in a new novel, so I know he'd do us right with future material. We might've even gotten animated or vidya adaptations of novels if things had worked out like they did… but sadly, twas never meant to be. And the true downside to all of this is that our heroes from the OT will be remembered as faggy losers who died like bitches/became assholes while they're actors acted like twitter drama whores. I would've even settled for George selling that shit to China since no one in the rest of the world would take anything new they make seriously and it would allow SW to rest in peace since chinks would probably just make shitty toys and mediocre films out of it once every few years or just run it to the ground instantly.
