With the exception of TOR's IA story I think this is just typical Bioware writing. They don't know how to do darkside characters right.

I did a mostly-darkside run for my Warrior and that Jedi chick you pick up and turn darkside made me want to uninstall the game. Her dialogue was so fucking bad.

The Sith Warrior story was rather interesting if you went light side, but from what I recall, light side Sith Inquisitor winds up being a bit of a retard and getting constantly bailed out of trouble by other people. I enjoyed going the cackling supervillain route more on that one, because the writing had the character be a little more proactive.

I was about to say, "Dark Side" choices in that story come off more as as a shadowy operative doing what he does best. And filling his justified need for vengeance as events progress.

Now here's a fun idea, and one just as fun from a comment:

Light-side with her is the only option however I preferred going light side with Vettes story since muh twi'lek. Playing a light side Sith was so fucking funny though since I remember one encounter a jedi straight up leaves the fucking room because he didnt understand what he just met.

She's the closest you'll get, but her motivations are also retarded. She has no reason to like you at all, and no reason to submit to you or your will, but she does anyway. Also I do not find Togrutas attractive.

Frankly almost all of the companions are poorly written. There are very few who I would consider to be interesting or well-developed characters. The ones I found passable were Mako, Gault, Blizz, Quinn, Pierce, Khem Val, Kaliyo, Vector, Lokin and Scorpio. I also liked Lana.

I think one of my favorites was Lokin, because he was written a bit like a character from one of the old isometric RPGs. He would straight up lie to you with a huge smile on his face, and unless you were clever enough to see through his ruse the game was perfectly content to let you be tricked. You had to read between the lines a lot with him. It was refreshing compared to the spell-everything-out, all-motivations-in-the-open style of most other characters.

I'd argue that Bioware's black-and-white style of writing actually fits perfectly with Star Wars where the Sith have always been portrayed as unapologetic dicks.

I mean, there is only so much shit that you can try to spin before having to admit that the core concept of the Sith is that they are evil assholes and the designated bad guys.

I also don't think you realize or remember just how bad Bioware's writing is. I recall one particular scene from KotOR1:

She's not useless at all. She saves Anakin many times, comes up with strategies and acts as a source of levity, compassion and almost unbearable cuteness that makes her a joy to see in spite of any flaws she might have, which are largely down to personal opinion. Plus it's refreshing in an era of "stronk womyn who don't need no man" to see someone like her who isn't always flawless but who still has some legitimate skills, and furthermore is actually a nice person to be around unlike the unbearable feminist cunts in so much other media. This whole conversation would be better off in a thread specifically about Ahsoka though.
