I liked the LAATs in TCW, they all had a pin up painted under the cockpit.

I dont understand the evolution of clone pilots probably since the Republic sort of did lack in the Navy compared to CIS

>Phase 1 regular clone trooper armor with breather

>Phase 2 modified helmet that makes sense for piloting

>Phase 3 open visor helmet and flight suit similar to what the Rebels wore

I guess some of the clones were ok with species-mixing then.

They even had twilek lolis on their helmets.

great homage to WW2 planes, it was very common to have pinup girls painted on the sides of their planes beneath the cockpits

They have a unified aesthetic which is visually really important for Star Wars and they managed to do it without reusing tie fighters. The republic gunship looks a bit too bubbly-looking for my taste but I really like the ARC-170, the V-Wing and the Z-95.

 No.6902

>>6823

it lets them at least scratch their nose

also it probably was a failure of a concept since they went back to enclosed helmets in imperial ships

 No.6905

>>6902

Not necessarily. TIE fighters didn't have complete life-support to minimize weight; so the pilot's flight suit also provided those functions; whether the open-face worked or not TIE helmets had to be enclosed to serve that purpose.

 No.6911

>>6902

The biggest ironic part is how they adopted the CIS swarm tactics which why they ditched all thier Y-Wings which the Rebels obtained

 No.6914

>>6911

that actually often happens irl.

egyptians and adaptation of chariots after hittites/assyrians

germans and getting gud at tanks after ww1

russians getting a fuckton of paratroopers after ww2

its not like swarm tactics arent effective.

main upside of carriers was their ability to scout very big distances. and considering how big distances empire had to control getting a fuckton of cheap, easy to produce and fast fighters seems like a good idea. their only purpose should be patrolling large areas of space and protecting capital ships from enemy fighters

also reminder that in old canon y-wing was the most shot down space craft in a galaxy. in universe with tie fighters. ponder that

 No.6915

>>6914

Even in Battlefront, my Y-Wings always got shot down quickly.

is it me, or are almost all of the larger ships in star wars generally phallic-shaped?

i think it was supposed to look like grandad of corellian corvettes

also its not that big, its just an escort

also dick is THE BEST shape for space ships

This Gunship variant always made me hard

 No.6951

>>6823

The irl answer is the same as to why all the clone armour evolved the way it did which was to make it look very similar (but still somewhat distinct) to the stormtrooper armour.

 No.7033

>>7029

Nah, that's just a weak attempt at conflating CIS designs with Empire designs

 No.7035

I remember reading that the CIS flagships were designed by Mon Calamari yet the Mon Calamari fought alongside the Republic in the War. Why is that? I know in one of the Clone Wars comics a Mon Calamari commander sided with the CIS but the Mon Calamari government sided with the Republic to fight the Quarren. The continuity gets weird.

 No.7038

>several CIS ships were based on technical schematics stolen from the Mon Calamari by Quarren Separatists.
