disney's "canon" is the movies, cgi tv shows and anything released post 2012, for the most part. apparently they're backpedaling now and saying that some things aren't canon, like that anthology book a certain point of view, or the novelizations of the movies, because they're based on earlier drafts of screenplays and scenes in them aren't in the movies (even though this was never the case before, the novelizations were always considered canon as they were a more complete form of the movies).
