There has been a concerted effort to trash Lucas since TLJ met with the reaction it did. Fox News ran an article about George saying he ‘went too far in places’ on TPM. This is around the time Murdoch sold 20th Century Fox to Yidsney. FoxNews wasn’t sold, but Murdoch was inclined to support them with positive articles.

The last thing Disney wants is to have people demand Lucas come back. They would have basically paid money and Lucas will still own it.

I stopped watching it after they said the deleted scenes were bad. Sure, they didn't fit in the movie's pacing, but individually speaking they were well done scenes.
