Expect it to also come out in 2019. Because EA are a bunch of fucking incompetents who're taking nearly half a decade to do one game of the same flavor we'd get annually before between the Jedi Knight, Kotor, and other original stories.

It'll also spell the beginning of the end for Star Wars as a whole. 2019 is when the trilogy will end and after that the bottom will fall out HARD.

The first reason is that interesting Star Wars news is still very infrequent despite everything Disney is pumping out, and the second is that not many people even know this board exists.

Luckily the current staff at Lucasfilm probably don't even know he existed which means we still have a slim chance of getting a faithful adaptation if Disney ever collapses in the future and the franchise is acquired by decent human beings.

Other properties aren't so lucky. If anyone tried to make a faithful Dark Forces adaptation at any time in the future they'd get accused of plagiarizing Rogue One, as ridiculous as that is. Disney has poisoned the well with their own reimagining of story and characters so audiences just won't be interested in the original version now.

Leland Che and Pablo Hidalgo are on the story group charged with keeping the canon together, but with every day I speculate they have about as much say in the lore as Chris Metzen did for Warcraft. By this I mean a higher authority dreams up some product and it's up to them to invent justifications.
