Any of you fags remember this?

If you don't have a clue what I am on about, basically it was a tabletop game where you got to use ships in a Star Trek setting when everyone was at war. Fairly typical game in terms of base mechanics, ships have movement and points costs, move in hexes, but then there is a whole heap of autism to go with it including power output, boarding parties and well frankly a fuckton of other shit too long to go on about.

It was actually fun and had an interesting setting, plus had decent lore about the various Empires which were often talked about but you don't see shit about.

I remember these. I had a bunch, but rarely got to play the actual game due to lack of other players.

Do you remember the ads for the model ships in the back of Starlog magazine?

Seems simple enough to remake in tabletop simulator, if I owned it and knew how to mod it I would

There's actually a mod already for Tabletop Simulator. Plus Starfleet Command series of games is pretty much the same thing.

I think my brother had this, though I never played it.

TOS or TMP era anons?

>Any of you fags remember this?

Played a couple of games with a friend who easily beat me because he'd played it a shitload of times. The only thing I remember was that there are rules for legendary captains, and Kirk's is:

>If the Enterprise is destroyed, there's a chance Kirk will end up on one of your ships, sabotaging the warp drive or cloak or whatever

>There's actually a mod already for Tabletop Simulator.

Man, I wish I had the guts to play that simulator. I'm dying to play stuff like that, but the thought of connecting with strangers online just scares the shit out of me for some reason.

>inb4 "But…but you're…"

No, I'm not. You guys have no idea what I look like or sound like can vice versa . Talking through the keyboard allows me to order my thoughts better than I usually can in an unknown social setting.

Plus I'm in my 40s and I'm terrified of accidentally being labeled a predator just because I want to play an RPG or a board game

Most games are cool with just typing, especially on PC.

I did not. Hmmm…

My son and his friend told me today they've also got other games I like. I might have to actually spend some shekels on this, after all.

I often type more articulately than I speak. I think that's fairly common. And I'm in my 30s. Lots of guys into traditional games are older, and anyway, the imageboard cohort includes tons of people who have grown up and never left the boards.

I'd beg you to be gentle, but I'm afraid it's not my first time.

>>954

Alright. As soon as I get some semi-disposable income, again, I'm getting that program and possible a headset. No camera, though. I'm not ugly but I'm terrified of leaving something like that on by accident and going viral.

>"What's he jerking it to, anyway?"

>"Um…it appears to be a picture of the masterpiece edition of the Decepticon, Soundwave."

>"That sick fuck!"

>"I know, right?"

>"That's MY husbando!"

>"…"

These are the models from the FAFSA board games, right? I remember the ads in the TNG magazines. If I remember correctly, Gene hated the games because they were "too militaristic".

If you are more comfortable typing, nothing wrong with sticking with typing. Even with rl friends I play vidya with online, I still use typing. If the age thing is a hangup, meh. Plenty of mixed age people play. Or you can try to set up a disclaimer that it's a mature gamers league or something similar.
