…and you know what? Fuck it. I'm tired of cataloging everything that's wrong with this shit. I don't need to do it, because it's apparent to everyone how bad this is. I came here after checking in at oneangrygamer and reading about some similar faggot from Bioware attempting to justify MA: Andromeda and whining about how no one is given his shitty, shitty work a chance. Fuck giving them chances. Fuck the guys behind STD. I am so fucking sick and tired of them remaking the world in their own cunty image and then crying boo-hoo about it when people vote with their wallets. I was going to watch one episode just to see how bad it truly was, but I don't even need to do that. I hope everyone involved who actually feels proud of what they've done kills themselves.

Oh, come anon, you're better than that. Don't hope they kill themselves. That's too good for them. Hope that they grow old alone, unfulfilled, unloved, and with no interests in their lives. Hope that they wither and die without anyone caring about them. Hope that nobody notices their death until the neighbours start complaining about the smell. Hope that they see everything they care about wither and fade along with them, not even earning the honour of a dramatic ending.

Don't hope they die, hope they break.

I wasn't there to witness it in person, but it comes down to Dukat being a sympathetic antagonist. In order to be true to the character as-written, Mark Alaimo made a conscious effort to play Dukat as if he was the hero of the show. The result is that even among viewers who considered him a "bad guy", he was still regarded as a bad guy who genuinely believed he was doing the right thing, or, a believable and interesting character. Some of the head writers, not understanding the concept of nuance and apparently forgetting about TOS' "the best of the tyrants" conversation, got fanny-flustered that people liked Dukat. That's why the character underwent such radical, nonsensical changes in the last season- it was the head writers having a hissy-fit and trying to make him into the cartoon villain that they had always though he was.

Worse than STD is debatable, especially since we haven't even seen a single episode of STD for comparison. What I'm saying is that Renegades is a SJW shitfest with a mary sue lead and villains who are litterally a race of misogynistic rapists.

Don't go into it expecting anything better than a fan-film and you'll probably like it, or parts of it, anyway. It has Admiral Chekov, Ambassador Tuvok, and Dr. Lewis Zimmerman. Also Edward Furlong and Sean Young (who, to be fair, isn't all that Young, anymore). Plus an Andorian gal who would have been the toast of the slashfic sites if the series had managed to get off the ground. I went looking for the channel and I found this, instead. Riddle me this, /strek/kies: What is black, white, and smells like communist propaganda? This interview.

If you want to skip to the really vile part, it's at 2:43, when Colbert starts talking about the Vulcan "philosophy" of infinite diversity in infinite combinations, which is stupid since the fucking Vulcans would know that statement is illogical. There might be trillions of combinations, but they're still fucking finite.

As an aside, the IDIC pin Spock wears in "Is There In Truth No Beauty" was actually a merchandising gimmick to sell those pins to the nascent trekkie movement. Essentially Colbert is quoting from an episode that tried to sell a fad.

They are, they just aren't screaming about it in the audience's face because they know that we don't want to watch a faggot and his nigger faggot boyfriend. It's confirmed by these two quotes:

<"what is his responsibility as the doctor and as my partner?"

The only context in which this question holds any meaning is if partner means butt-buddy

<"we're still even in the future dealing with something as simple and arcane as life work balance".

Again, only holds any meaning if the two of them are a couple. They wouldn't pair the two of them together on screen for the interview if they weren't a couple in character.

Thanks, suit.

>After watching these two videos I'm even more pumped to watch this show crash and burn.

The most infuriating part is that (with the exception of the "klingons") I may have been willing to give this show a chance, but I'm so fucking sick to death of the virtue-signalling and indoctrination attempts. I literally flinch any time I hear the word "diversity" these days. I was watching some nature documentary and the narrator said "This is a very diverse ecosystem" and went to Spergcom 2 before I got a hold of myself. I wonder how many more words can be stolen from the English language and warped to their purposes?

Just Netflix and CBS arrogance. They'll double down on the show, just because all the evil wrong-thinkers are against it. That is why I suspect it's going to get two seasons.

I was just thinking. The fucks who are making STD made a lot of mistakes, but one of the biggest was involving Sarek and Spock in Stronk Womyn's backstory. They could have made up a Vulcan named Sorix or something and it would have been interesting without shitting on the canon. They also could have made those four-nostril blue-black fucks into their own race instead of leeching of the Klingons and that would have also removed some barriers to enjoyment. Make no mistake, this was going to be pozzed no matter what, but it might have been half-way watchable if they weren't such a pack of entitled cunts who think they know better than the fans.

First episode airs on CBS Sunday 8:30 PM EDT, I assume other time zones are going to be delayed. Does it premiere on CBS All Access at the same time or earlier in the day?

If you can find a streaming source, we could set up a chatroom channel on cytu.be or a similar site, or at least anons that can view it on CBS can show up and discuss.

For all their talk of "muh diversity an' sheet" it seems they have fewer black people on their cast than TNG did in its first season.

TNG also had 3 women in its regulars, this show seems to only have 2.

Since trek has also had black leads and female leads before, how exactly is STD actually pushing the envelope as far as diversity goes? Is it all just so much virtue signaling and empty words?

I'd love to come for a stream, but its airing at 2.30 AM in my timezone…

Gays (confirmed, the doc and the engineer are an interracial gay couple), maybe trannies.

In 2 or 3 future Trek shows, having diversity and/or minority will mean that your show will have one cis hwite male character (they won't be able to add more than one because the world won't be able to handle so much change).
