What really bothers me about the mirror universe is that there seems to be some kind of inherent shared destiny between it and the regular universe. Even with radically different historical events, the same people end up being born to the same parents. This means that when Deep Space Nine decides to go crazy and start killing people because it's the mirror universe and it doesn't really matter, their counterparts are fated to never have children, ensuring that continuity is maintained.

that's exactly it, anon. all universes are bound to swole destiny and seek to achieve a swole state, so no matter how pozzed, the "normal" universe gets, all the principle characters tend to end up in more-or-less the same situation because of destiny. The "mirror" universe is actually the most sane universe and is widely regarded as the best timeline to be living in, so it's helpful to look at other universes as being a warped version of it and are always experiencing some degree of correction to bring them to swoleness.

The mirror universe was a good idea for one episode. The DS9 interpretation was shit, and seemed to just be about degenerates.

Swoleverse is okay though, but almost like a different universe completely where the focus is on being /fit/ and less on being a savage.
