>Be Damar
>Follow happily Dukat, your mentor, the man you would gladly die for, bring Cardassia from the brink of defeat and make it great again
>Believe that victory was near only for it to be snatched away by unbelievable bullshit
>See your mentor's daughter for the traitor she really is and try to rescue him from his slide into despair and madness
>Fail and end up having to take his place as the leader of the Cardassian people
>Come to the realization you are little more than a Dominion puppet with very little say
>Watch helplessly as your Cardassians are marched off to slaughter
>Only thing you end up looking forward to each day is a bottle of kanar and finding ways to kill an endless supply of Weyoun clones
>Spend the next 2 years essentially depressed and single handle keep the Kanar industry in business
>Finally lose your shit when Breen come into the play and realize your people have been conquered without any shots being fired
>Decide to rebel against the Dominion even at a point when it looked like they were going to win, knowing if you don't your people would be screwed in the long run
>Lose everything you once had resisting, including closest friends and family
>Be betrayed by a comrade and lose resistance
>Unwittingly become an almost godlike symbol of the Cardassian people who refuse to acknowledge you were dead
>Spur up spirit of the Cardassian people in their darkest hour, die storming the central command for Cardassia, die not exactly sure what the people saw in you but happy to know you did your duty for Cardassia
He really was an underrated character.
