First off: This is directed at improving the accuracy of the numbers reported on the first tab of the master spread sheet. I noticed the variances on the actual number of sealed indictments on many of the lines in the master spread sheet. While I don't think revising the individual counts will change the overall picture, I thought it worthwhile to tighten up the accuracy of this running total of sealed indictments.
I started off checking the embedded file for every single line that had a variance. At some point, I changed to only checking ones that had a variance of <-4 or >4. I needed to wrap things up. My choice of criteria was somewhat arbitrary, but the goal was to start focusing only on the bigger variances that potentially have the most impact on overall accuracy.
I included a few notes, one of which was the count of suppressed cases that currently seem to be counted as though they were sealed indictments. I don't think suppressed indictments are the same as sealed indictments. Thus, they should not be included in the running total. Also, the reports from the Southern District of Indiana have the sealed cases listed intermixed the regular cases. Have to look at every single page to find the sealed cases. That kinda sucks.
My hope is that the anon who has done all the hard work and the great job putting together this spread sheet can make use of my small attempt to help.
Note that in pretty much in all cases where the total I came up with did not match either the "Your" count (the anon who authored the master list) or the "Their" count, I have double or triple checked my result.
I await the day the waves of mass arrests begin.
