Waking Up

The first step of waking up in life is seeing beyond your own nose. There's a man in my town who truly puts his politics aside to be a real writer, a journalist of the highest order.

To wake up in life, you have to learn to put your politics aside and live.

The world with its ability to bombard the senses is like a stream rushing toward a life-threatening water fall. Participating in the rat race of life is being in that stream. Appealing to your base desires and needs is being in the stream. The stream is hypnotic, it puts you in a trance.

Survival becomes the need for which all other needs are founded. Being lucid in life is getting out of the stream. And when you have recovered your strength, you help others out of the rushing waters.
