First, the original clip totally taken out of context.
However, if the speech is understood properly, in full, that remark may still be the ultimate thrust of the speech, contrary to his apparent condemnation of people ceding rights to an all powerful sovereign.
First he appears to be associating this remark with nations asserting their nation-state status, which is oxymoronical.
The structure of the speech is virtually identical to the Macron speech on Cap Hill. Macron initially celebrated the special relation between two sovereign nations with rich and unique histories. He celebrated the nation-state, but then did a 180 and pivoted, without any rhetorical signal that he was doing so, to the EU and basically NWO type themes.
The contradiction points to the opening of the speech providing "cover" for the second have being the real substance.
This structure is a rhetorical trope. Start with a nod and a wink to acceptable themes your audience will embrace, then move surreptitiously to themes you want to assert, particularly ones the audience will not necessarily embrace or find palatable if you explained it to them explicitly/directly.
As for Obama's speech, this was an NWO "stump" speech not much different from other speeches with an international audience, particularly similar to his famous 2008 Berlin.
Obama spoke of the place of the US in the world, but then shifted to the "global order" or "world order" and just dropped the "new" of NWO.
Particularly he emphasized no single superpowers and multilateralism (aka down with America First/American exceptionalism).
He spoke of the obligations/duties of "global citizens" and that we are ALL global citizens. Mention of USA entirely disappeared in the 2nd half of speech.
In fact the ceding of rights traditionally guaranteed by nation-states to an all powerful (global) sovereign (hence global citizens) is exactly what would be required for world government and therefore fits logically into the 2nd half of the speech.
Thus the excerpted clip can in fact be seen as what he is arguing for within the totality of the speech.
But, what was the BIGGEST thing missing from the end of the speech????? No "God Bless the United States of America" or something to that effect.
"God Bless…." is something Trump makes a point of saying in almost all of his speeches regardless of topic or venue.
