The Apsara for sure. Really, anything that isn't Hellhound, Manticore, Cheshire, Gazer, and Kikimora.

I don't think Black Harpies really work as "hellhounds with wings" because of the image itself. Unless you subscribe heavily to the 'mamano mana' idea, it's hard to believe that a girl half your size and weighing 80-something pounds is going to overpower you. Her redraw by KC is great though.

Speaking of harpies, I'm glad Ace put a Gandharva is his new story. She never really got all that popular, which is a real shame with how much potential she has.

I think the doppelgänger is pretty underrated. They have the potential to change both their personality and their form which can lead to some great variety, such as spending a year with a spunky tomboy lizardgirl and spending another year with a reclusive shy Oomukade. Yet instead of disgusting harem shit it's just one girl changing her form. For someone like me who likes variety this is pretty appealing. You can even have two at once if the women your pining for actually likes you back, then they can do things like transform into liliraunes and other duo girls like the armor and sword. The possibilities are endless if your imaginative enough.

Unless you go full Shakespeare (never go full Shakespeare) and make it so turtle-chan get's the texts asking about her after she's taken the pills and she realizes senpai loved her, she was too stupid and assumed the worse. The look of realization on her face as she's made a terrible mistake and hurriedly calls an ambulance. Maybe have a tender few texts from turtle-chan explaining why she's sorry as a confused senpai tries to get more information out of her. Then cut to a shot of her crying as she's slowly losing consciousness while squirming and fighting not to fall asleep knowing she'll never wake up. As she is convulsing on the floor and foaming at the mouth you could see her cell phone going off with texts from her senpai. Turtle-chan is literally suffocating from the effects of the sleeping medicine OD and you can hear her grunting and choking as tears stream down her cheeks. Her grunts turn into gurgles as her twitching gradually stops and she becomes still.

Then…

Upon finding out turtle-chan died, her senpai goes to the roof of the hospital and throws himself off it in a fit of utter depression. As he's falling he wonders if he might see turtle-chan in death.

But like I said. That feels too much like a riff on Shakespeare to me. I couldn't do it with a straight face.

If you want to get really crazy you could then have it where they think she's dead and upon hearing that the senpai kills himself but turtle-chan recovers and finds out that senpai killed himself because he thought she had killed herself so she kills herself again (for good this time) out of the same sadness her senpai had for her death when she actually didn't die the first time

But that just sounds so contrived and ridiculous I couldn't put it to paper.

I alone am not powerful enough to generate a tangible universe. It takes at least a few people concentrating on that universe and filling in the blanks with their own mind to give that universe life. The stronger the emotional connection the more power those thoughts have at generating worlds.

The creation of the universe was for my amusement but I had no hand in bringing it life like those in the thread did. Thier emotional investment did far more to give it some degree of tangibility than any number of words I could type out would. Blame me if you want. You know this to be true.

The point you're missing is no one was shot. I'm essentially being accused of a thought crime. While I created the scenario I never forced anyone to read my words. I can't force people to care about fictional characters. They have to do that of their own volition. As a courtesy, I even censored the story in question. Those who read the story made a conscious decision to choose the good or bad ends. They pulled the metaphorical trigger. At most I merely handed them the gun.

When you get people reading and excited about a story that evokes emotion it will create a unique connection in one's mind. Perception becomes reality at that point. The moment people allowed themselves to care about the characters is the moment they became real. Even if they don't manifest themselves physically in our universe the human mind makes them real through it's perception of reality.

The reality is turtle-chan is perfectly fine as long as you didn't read the bad ends.

If you did, Turtle-chan is most certainly dead and everyone who read my story was complicit in her demise.
