The process isn't that ideas are submitted to writefags who will then write them up—it's the written character bios themselves that are the submissions to the selection process. However, anyone is welcome to join the writefag team and participate in producing those. If an idea does not come with an accompanying character bio as specified in the OP, then I will not pay attention to it in the selection. If you put an idea down in this thread, it's up to the whims of someone else whether or not it will get written up and considered.

Ultimately the list will be whittled down to five from however many bios there are. Last time I checked there are six in progress with more on the way.

We've got one bio in, and it's precisely the kind of thing we're looking for.

Being so far away from them has made her quite homesick though. Like the rest of her family she enjoys the finer things in life: opera, fancy dinners, art shows, etc. Gets obsessed with everything being exactly perfect and might start to get unhinged if too many things go wrong too closely together.

As you guys choose the cast, don't forget to think about the potential for brief crossovers between the various routes. Each girl and her route should be good on their own, but they all attend the same school with their own schedules and interests, so the final set has to mesh well together (in terms of the overall story, not necessarily in terms of relationships with each other) to an extent.

If they don't well it is a wet shirt. Is very single minded and once she has decided on something it is going to take a hammer to get her to budge an inch. She might start pushing the boundary of what the school is willing to tolerate so she might be spend a decent amount of time in detention.

Teasing her about them though is one of the very few ways to get her mad and yo will probably go home covered in poison ivy in retaliation. Other than that she likes to sing while she works and may give you strange advice if you ask that surprisingly works.

To whoever will be doing the judging for the final roster, I think some weight should be placed on the MG's corresponding human as well.

If we wanted the MC or MCs to be blank slates, then there was no need to decide on a set of brothers as protagonists. (And I really like the brothers idea and think it brings something a little different to the table.)

The student council was made to recruit a monster into their ranks to better deal with the unavoidable problems that will be coming in the year and she volunteered for the position. She wants to show how great monsters, specifically dragons, can be and has thrown herself into the job with perhaps a bit too much gusto. This is because she was always considered a bit of a runt and wants to prove herself. Her job is to mediate between humans and monsters at the school and to bring attention needs that monsters might have to the staff. Unfortunately she tends to act first before thinking leading to the problem becoming worse.

The brother and the monster are extremely cold and uncaring to everyone, but when alone, they become enthusiastic lovebirds. The brother is a delinquent who skips school and speaks obscenities, and the angel girl can't help but fall for the bad boy. It doesn't really take but a couple minutes at most.

This. It helps make the school feel like a real place instead of some weird dimension where each protagonist pair splits off into their own isolated instance of reality.

Well, I think we would still want some basic secondary characters to serve as staff for the school and classmates that might play minor roles in the various routes. They wouldn't need very much characterization or "screen time", though.

Another fun idea would be to sometimes have bits of one path leak or crossover into another path. I'm assuming all of the brothers' paths take place roughly in parallel, so you, as one brother, might walk into a situation in progress or the tail end of some conversation or whatever concerning another brother, and you won't know exactly what that was all about until you play the other brother's path.

Decided to throw around some ideas for the characters and their plots. Some of these scenes can be times for a choice, where the path may split and lead to other options.

>Lamia westaboo & The Quiet Lazy Brother

She’s the most interested in human culture of all the girls, or at least that’s what she thinks. Acts mature despite running her mouth often. Akin to a human obsessed version of a weaboo. Doesn’t like monster girls that much. The brother prefers to not talk at all and let things play out by themselves. The new girls do interest him though especially the one that seems to have just fallen into his lap, removing the effort needed to get a girl. Prefers movies over reading.

Plot synopsis: The first time she meets the brother he doesn’t interrupt her spiel on the wonders of humanity, meanwhile the brother is awestruck by her monster girl body. She finishes one of her Teri-ads for once and wants to see the brother again. The second time they see each other the lamia has some human companions, mostly human females. Lamia gloats about the newfound popularity she received. Feeling suspicious has the main character to later stick around and figure out one of the only reasons these humans are with her is because she’s an exotic lamia, this makes him feel a bit hypocritical. Pointing this out will lead the majority of them away where you have a bit of a heart-to-heart with the lamia girl. After this the main character will be less of a pushover.

They meet up again with nerd spider only for the mc saying he wishes to discuss something other than humans, leading to a conversation that mentions but doesn’t explain why she’s so obsessed with humans, a dislike of her own species. They decide to spend some more time together, resulting in the dating portion of the game. The plot then follows the brother taking the lamia to some location in order to best explain the flaws and strengths of humanity which she soon realizes isn’t perfect. After she thinks for a second they can’t be together since she loved the human not the person. Doesn’t take long to change her mind and loves the brother all over again.

>Slime stalker & The Gruff Goofy Brother

Shy and Stalkerish, wants the social void in her life to be filled, even with all these new people she can’t seem to make any friends. Attempts to rectify this issue by changing her body shape or crafting different potions. None of this can change her personality so she grows attached to the one person that does accept her. The Gruff brother has a bit more of the opposite problem, avoided for his tough exterior and murderous look but really a goof.

Plot synopsis: Being a bit more on the intimidating side this brother’s story results in him being a bit lacking for interaction, aside from many stares he could feel making their way up his skin. He notices that one of the girls are trying not get themselves noticed staring. A couple days later of this he makes a friend or two with some of the other scruffy looking guys and a dog girl before the same girl walks up to him to try and start their relationship. A bit suspicious the brother agrees to her proposition, doesn’t know she’s a monster girl yet. She then proceeds to hug him on the spot, causing the brother’s heart to skip a beat. He isn’t used to the amount of attention that’s being given but their relationship continues to progress, and he tries his best to give back the love she gives him. He eventually expresses his inability to keep up with her love, and says she’s too good for him. This leads to the reveal she was never human under her thought process it was her looks that were too perfect.

She has a moment of realization and resolves that everything is ok and they can still be together. They agree to stop hiding things from each other and be completely honest. She starts to use potions for other more fun things at the brother’s advice, showing off a bit more of his goofy side. She starts doing more things for him and each other. This progression naturally makes some others less inclined to avoid them and soon the brother realizes he doesn’t need to hide the guy he is. They have a group of friends and a happy relationship by the time the credits roll.

>Shy Spider girl & The Forward Sub Brother

The spider girl is interested primarily in just getting through the school year, trying not to start a fuss. Her looks deceive her personality, looking much more dangerous than what she actually is. Enjoys distracting herself from reality with things like books or games. The Brother wants to get raped by the school’s new inhabitants and goes out of his way to request it. He doesn’t hide anything and does his best to get what he wants and so far he’s unsuccessful.

Plot synopsis: The brother finds her in the library while picking up one of the new “practicing safe rape” guides the school received. Instead of being repulsed by her visuals he instead initiates a conversation with her. The spider girl appreciates the conversation. When asked to do the deed, she gets flustered, preferring that nothing happens this year. Accenting how boring that is the brother forces the spider nerd along on trips outside her comfort zone. The brother starts taking her out of the library so she can interact with the rest of the world she spends so much time learning about. Her feelings fluctuate on the situation, sometimes enjoying the occasional thing that interests her. The brother notices she isn’t as happy as she was when she was just locked up reading books.

The brother then stops taking her on these adventures and leaves her inside the library where she’d normally be each day. She starts to miss what came before, although appreciative he stopped. When they speak to each other again the brother explains he realized the error in his ways of forcing her actions and that It would’ve won her over. In the end it’s not what they did that causes her to fall for him but the mutual respect that resulted. She opens up a bit to the rest of the world and sees a little bit of change isn’t so bad. They then have loving consensual sex.

She saw a sailor moon thing as a kid and become obsessed with it and so gives some strange monologues and speeches when she is on duty.

So the lamia story boils down to 'MC is interested in exotic women and falls for the snake's snake half, the snake is interested in humans and falls for the MC because he's a human. But then they realize they're wrong and love each other for who they are'. It could work, but it'd also be pretty shallow. There'd have to be quite a bit of interaction that isn't focused on the monster/human portions and instead on their character/personality; in order to justify why they'd want to be with one another on a level that isn't superficial. You also need some manner of interaction you would get with a lamia that you wouldn't get with any other specifies and some level of embarrassment when the brother requests things from the lower half.

The slime stalker idea sucks. It's just a retread of 'it's okay to be yourself', you can't do that for every story. That's an acceptable resolution only once. And the slime doesn't sound particularly yandere at all. Now a gruff oblivious brother who doesn't understand girls dealing with a yandere slime that has poor self-worth thinking his social cues are rejection make for a better chemistry.

The dog should be retooled to being between a 'protector of the people' vs a 'serious and unyielding' student council president where at the very start they're enemies. This gives them room to grow to like each other, even when one thinks the other is a baka and vice versa. You don't need the election bit, just them having differing ideals of JUSTICE is enough. A juvenile weregirl who tries to pep everyone up and a stern responsible type mesh together. In my opinion, a dynamic between a soy-boy shut-in and a chad exercise-freak weregirl would work better.

The vampire bully story where the brother is Jackie Chan not wanting any trouble, would be more work than it's worth. For one, you'd have to account for the various monster girl bullies other than the vampire, which means more work and more resources, portraits, backgrounds, etc. From a management position, it'd just make more sense for the vampire to focus squarely on the scaredy cat brother. You could say she's the most feared girl in school -before- he arrives and has never lost a fight in her life; then the first day the brother is at school, he accidentally pisses her off and gets called out in front of school where she intends to mock him. Instead, the brother kicks her ass in self-defense by pure mistake. The vampire, being the proud creature that she is, reveals that a commoner defeating her in such a fashion dishonors her family and by means of custom, the only way to save face is to marry. The brother obviously refuses, and the story goes on from there as the vampire tries every resource at her disposal, money, exaggerated romance, threats, bribery, to get the brother to be with her. None of it works, until she simply asks him straight up if he'd like to date, to which he casually shrugs and goes 'Alright.' One of those 'acts increasingly grandiose as expected of her pedigree but when she acts normally she gets the desired response' sort of situations.

It sounds all well and good, but you'd have to actually write those 'adventures' taking the spider outside her comfort zone. I can promise you, it's not as easy as you think it'd be. A reluctant dom spider vs a forward sub brother would be funnier.

Just to add a little to the "write them as monsters as well as girls" thing that Bromont was talking about, I had an idea for the demon if you still want to go the matchmaker route with her. It may not be a good idea, and it may not mesh well with her current direction, but I'll throw it out as food for thought to help people think about how we incorporate each monster's specific traits and lore into their story.

In secular mythology, demons often try to snare people into forming some sort of pact or Faustian bargain with them. In exchange for a person selling their soul, their integrity, or some other precious thing in their life or character, the demon grants them some fantastic boon or aid. But eventually, if not immediately, the debt must always be called in. Demons try to corrupt men, to steal away or destroy everything they are and everything they have. They often prey upon a man's short-term thinking to carry out their own long-term plans.

Maybe this "demon cupid" is a very helpful sort of person… but at a price. If she sees someone (particularly a human) having some sort of problem or if they come to her for assistance or advice, she will gladly help them…as long as that human promises to go on a blind date with this monster girl friend of hers that she thinks would be perfect for him. Perhaps there is always a sort of deviousness about her–you always just know she's up to something or that there are going to be some strings attached in any dealings with her, even if there's no real malice present. Maybe she is almost supernaturally good at managing to show up right when you find yourself in a bind with exactly the solution you think you need…if only you'll agree to her terms.

The MGE article on demons mentions overprotectiveness as a component to their possessiveness. Maybe this demon cupid sees humans as weak and in need of monster girls to care for and protect them. She could be all about matchmaking for this reason, thinking she knows much more about love and romance than humans and that she would know best about who would be most compatible with each other (whether this is true or not).

What I don't know is how the MC brother would mesh with something like that, or how the relationship would start to begin with. Would the MC somehow get entangled in one of her "contracts", but find some way or loophole to turn the tables on her? If we do establish her as a matchmaker, what makes her want the MC for herself as opposed to trying to pair him off with another monster girl? What sort of character growth would the demon and the brother go through during their route?

Maybe this MC is the straight man type and a bit stolid as well. He's quiet, works mostly in the background, overly serious, conscientious, and makes sure that all i's are dotted and all t's are crossed, even when no one else does. He might be initially attracted to JUSTICE doggo due to her enthusiasm. She kind of perks him up, and he can respect her drive for JUSTICE. He might also have some hidden chunni tendencies in his background–things he would never actually admit too, of course–which attracts him to her.

But he would still be playing the straight man to her, and part of the conflict would be due to him taking everything (too?) seriously while she tends to let her enthusiasm get the better of her (doesn't always think things through enough). Part of the conflict would also be about the MC learning to open up to the more lighthearted parts of himself and embrace a bit of silliness every now and then.

I don't know exactly how the relationship would play out, but if it ends well, I could see the MC turning into a more relaxed and less stressed person with a sense of fun mixed into his seriousness.

I haven't thought it through enough, nor have I followed the doggo's character enough, to have an idea of how the MC would affect her.

I'm a bit curious on the wings being small. On the one hand, the dragon has large, functional looking wings, and on the other, here we have the vampire with the smaller non-functional looking wings. The first thing that I'm wondering about me is the inconsistency of wing types, given they're both in the same game. Why would one set work one way, and another differently? Why not use one wing type for all the girls? More than that though, could I ask a question for clarity's sake? Are these wings around all the time, or do they just pop out when she wants them to? I ask because if they're a permanent fixture, that's not usually the case for most vampires I can think of, so it feels odd to me to pick an unusual characteristic like that and then not go all in on it with full size wings.

I'm liking the work I'm seeing done, I'm just curious about the design choice on this one.

I wasn't considering functionality very much in the first place—for either the vampire or dragon's wings to be functional, the wings would have to be huge, the body would have to be light and hollow-boned, and they would need many extra kilos of chest muscles to flap them. The setting has magic if they need to actually fly.

The designs anticondomanon and I have been posting are by no means finalised. The designs will likely end up as a mixture of what we've been posting. I agree with criticism posted in this thread about the beige in the vampire's colour scheme not fitting, and the cu sith's hair being too big (I wanted to incorporate the shaggy/braided hair from the mythology, but I overdid it).

No surprise, a lot of Burgerlander Protestants are quite ignorant about their own faith, ironically. It's Saint Peter's Cross, and he was crucified that way at his own request, thinking himself unworthy to die in the same position as his Lord for betraying him.

I used that for a plot point in a monstergirl script I was mucking around with. Protag accidentally creates a Petrine cross out of woodwork before he has to leave for work, almost drives our demonic leading lady wild with pain before he returns to fix it.

Well, considering the demon would use protag's soul contract as potential fuel for her (tiny) cult's dark ritual before she fell for him and changed her mind, it's not a stretch to call her an evil entity. Background is that she's from among the Host that sided with Lucifer, and that the War twisted her. Time, boredom, and bitterness at her lonely posting did the rest. No mortals aside from children and greedy cultists ever saw her as anything but an invisible monster anyway. But that first part is important. It means that redemption is not impossible. All the other stuff just makes it hellishly (no pun intended) difficult path filled with pitfalls. But the story ends happily enough.

I realized I might have made a stupid statement when I said that the faculty and staff would probably be a roughly 50/50 mix of humans and monsters.

If this school is supposed to be a relatively newly formed institute for the express purpose of integration between humans and monsters, I could see that. But if this is a human school doing a trial run with monster exchange students, it would probably make more sense for the employees to be mostly human with maybe a few monster positions (teachers, counselors, etc.) recently added to help aid both the humans and the monster students transition to their new environment.

The younger brother appreciates the wisdom his older siblings provide but has trouble deciding things for himself, especially when his brothers give conflicting advice. However if he had to pick a favourite sibling (don't ask him) his fraternal twin he relates to the most and understands the most.

Of course gets paired up with the bully character who he comedically beats in their first encounter. She immediately develops an attraction to him and tries to have him marry her, but if they got married right there no plot would exist. As time continues some people start spreading rumours that they're in a relationship and other romanticisms. The route works that every now and then the vampire girl offers marriage and you have to resist her advances until she changes into a good marriageable girl.

Has a bad habit of over analyzing situations and then panicking when things don't turn out as planned.

The idea here is both the spider and the brother take turns asking each other questions about humans and monsters respectively. Eventually it might start to become some more physical and personal questions but they need to be careful and not move too quickly as they might ask something that is a bit too far for their current relationship.

Gets work as a teamster, doesn't really care about money. Oblivious to social cues due to his lack of human and now monster interaction. Is rather nice, naturally uplifting to those that hold a conversation with him, unless the topic switches to himself. His family doesn't mind his quirks and respects him for putting food on the table, and they are some of the few people he can open up to. Is still passive and doesn't initiate much conversation aside from with his next oldest brother, the guardian. He respects the guardian brother's ability to make the choice to be stern and immovable, while he thinks he's stuck with it.

The guy would be great for a yandere because the eccentric and out of norm nature of the slime girl wouldn't faze him. Will make for some comedic moments and has no issue with her yandereness. His main issue to overcome is his unfamiliarity with human and monster intermingling will result in some misunderstandings on both the slime and his part, the yandere obviously also not being the best socializer. The main obstacles will be each other's autism.

Loves puzzles, tabletop or video games, with no failure state, doesn't give himself much free time though. Doesn't like wasting time on things he doesn't at least love so the list here would be too big, doesn't feel like exercising in his free time, does that enough otherwise. Despite his nature he understands social interaction and doesn't just yell at people. He's not the passive kinda guy. His position in the family is as someone to lean on and he recognizes that, keeps the family together. He is closest with the eldest, cool-headed brother and the younger nerdy brother for different reasons, one being an outlet for what he's learned/gained and one being an inlet.

His relationship with the dog girl starts off very negative, rivals basically. They each do their own thing to overlook the school and it comes down basically to principle and not their character. They grow closer overtime and even revise their tactics thanks to each other, their idea of a date is going around helping people at school. Absolutely hates it when things get messy and though he has nothing against monsters personally the integration is a big headache for him. Especially in his senior year where he needs to get a full scholarship so he does not have to worry about any burden on his family. Is quite popular among the school staff for being polite and by keeping everything so organized and easy for them. He is decently respected among the students with the exception of those that got on his bad side who suddenly find themselves volunteered for everything under the sun.

The idea here is a cool collected straight man to contrast with the hotheaded dragon. They both are fairly selfish, ambitious, and fiercely protective of what they consider theirs though. When they meet it will be like fire and water but eventually they see the similarities between each other and come together.
