I know that this is like every other new fag thread but whats a reliable and fun range gun to practice with? Preferably under 500 USD and cheap ammo of course. Personally I was thinking of something like a small .357 revolver but I open to new ideas.

Rifles are better for first timers. Pistols are harder to shoot. You can get a good ar-15 for 500$ + stupid fucking ffa bullshit tax

I'm not a complete first timer, I own a .22 lr and that's all I have for now, but I was looking for a funner gun to shoot, with a different experience than a rifle.

good? I don't think so unless you consider PSA shit or an M&P Sport "good"

Ruger GP/SP101 is jolly good fun. Might want to replace the stock grip though…

If I were in your position I would buy a revolver in .22lr. It shares ammo with your other gun and it's fits all of your criteria. Fuck, you could get a heritage rough rider for under $200 and spend the rest on whatever the fuck you want.

You may suck cocks, but either the GP 100 or the SP 101 would meet the "fun revolver" criteria.

Plus they're fuck near indestructible. Irradiated cockroach mutants will be carrying them in the nuclear apocalypse wasteland.

But what if he lives in the peoples republic of Illinois and can't buy one of those because it doesn't pass the "melting point" law? nuke Chimpcongo and Springfield please

Also we have a guide for this.

Can confirm. My security six is basically just a GP100 but marketed to cops, fudds, fudd cops, and army helicopter pilots instead of hobbyists and its built like a tank and very enjoyable to shoot.

Hello k.

I haven't been to this board yet. I am usually on that other board… you know the one.

So bear with a newfag as I ask an off topic question.

I am starting to gather supplies for the eventual happening to end all happenings. I know that the rabbit hole goes on forever, and I will find my way once I get in the ground, but for now the my entry into the labyrinth is this question…

Best resource to explain how to buy and store ammunition long term?

Thanks. I look forward to spending many an hour here with you on this board as winter sets in.

Storing ammo long-term is actually pretty simple. Just keep it in a cool, dry place, make sure the container it's in is waterproof (ammo box with an O-ring is your best bet), and throw a dessicant packet into each box for good measure. There's a BOB thread lower on the catalog if you want to ask about that, in the meantime I've got this document:

Very much appreciated, friend.

I hope I can return the small favor one day, even if we are anonymous.

In the meantime I will say a prayer for you and yours.

If you want to take it a bit further, date-mark (Purchase or manufacture) your ammo and use up your oldest ammo first for training and such and refill the storage with new purchases.
