I bought my Gustav for like $300+ a couple of years ago, and its a dream rifle. Shortages are not the problem with many firearms, the Colt Python being the most easy to spot. If there were a shortage of the on the market you could go on Gun Broker or other places and would not be able to even find a listing/auction. Instead many of these guns have dozens of listings/auctions because amateur speculators got into a market they didn't understand and fucked it up and fucked themselves up by buying expensive things at outrageous prices and never do sell them at the insane and unrealistic markups they demand to even break even with their greedy first purchase price. Like the Boomer with 40,000 rounds of 5.56 or 223 sitting in his basement wasting away in poor storage, Sandy Hook boom lead to attracting a lot of the usual failed market retards who can't tie their small market economic shoe laces.

Dipshit probably paid $600 for it. Let him sit on it, fuck him. I hope those guys who bout up all the Pythons at $2000 get to sit on them and never get their money back. Rather keep a fake shortage up, sell to other speculators, not let the prices drop and let availability rise so real consumers can get their hands on them.
