so I bought one of these impact sports to use at my range because the earmuffs they have there are worn and disgustingbut I have noticed that they are insufficient even with 22lrI have tried stuffing them with studio foam but it's still not enough

1 cent earplugs do fine to stop potential ear damage & dampen noise, and over here we deal with people shooting .50 BMG indoors. Get used to the sound, then you won't flinch
