Guns, operating on cased ammunition are perfectly capable of operating in space do to the oxidizer present. Space suits have been around as long as we've been trying to go to space. Doors have been around longer. There's literally nothing preventing you from being a space shuttle door gunner except for your lack of courage you spineless snail sucker.
