I bought TT-33 pistol today, but it has no firing pin retainer pin. Pic related. Is it safe to fire it? I wanted to test fire it but seems I'll have to buy this little piece of shit first. Or do I really have to?

well the firing pin retainer retains the firing pin so you might need it if you don't want the firing pin, unretained, to fly out the back

well fuck. so looks like I'll have to buy it first. thought that maybe at worst the gun wouldn't reload itself or something. just checked and shit costs more than I thought, feels bad man

>bought tt-33

>is it safe

Oj kumie.

>Is it important for the firing pin to not fly out

somewhat, even for a tokarev.

Does it even has a firing pin it it?

I mean that's the quick and dirty way to neutralize a gun and then sell them as if they work since 99% of people will not realize it's missing, which is what shady sellers to do people they don't know to not be pursued by cops for being complicit in illegal shit…

You can always argue you didn't sell a firearm (hard time) but an unlicensed neutralized gun (fine).

Use a paperclip it'll probly be fine

There's a guy on ebay selling new manufacture replacements for ~$25 USD, or ~85 PolanDollars.

Can you not legally buy gun parts or something? Worst case scenario you track down a retired machinist and have him make one, it's just a slotted pin. Turn it from your choice of oil or water hardening tool steel and heat treat afterwards.

You're gonna want that pin.

>>571856

Bad idea.

I imagine that, given that it retains the firing pin, you'll want it.
