THANKS TRUMP
>The guns and ammunition of a 56-year-old Lighthouse Point, Florida, resident were confiscated by police in what is reportedly the first such seizure under gun control laws signed by Gov. Rick Scott (R) last week.
>The Orlando Sentinel reports that “four firearms and 267 rounds of ammunition” were taken from the man, and he was “taken to a hospital for involuntary psychiatric treatment.”
>The seized firearms were listed as “a Ruger LCP .380 pistol, an M2 Mauser .45 pistol, a Charter Arms .357 mag snub nose revolver and a Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun.”
>The paper notes that “the civil ruling removing his access to guns and ammunition was granted under … new legislation — which permits confiscating guns from people who have not been committed but are deemed a potential risk to themselves or others, according to the order signed by Broward’s Chief Judge Jack Tuter.”
>The confiscatory order also bars the man from making new firearm or ammunition purchases.
>On March 9, Breitbart News reported that Gov. Scott signed a $400 million gun bill that includes orders which allows a family member or law enforcement to petition a judge to order the seizure of an individual’s firearms. The bill also put waiting periods in place for long gun purchases, raised the minimum purchase age for long gun purchases (from 18 to 21), and banned bump stocks.
>When asked about the confiscatory order that resulted in the seizure of the Lighthouse Point resident’s firearms, Mayor Glenn Troast said, “This is not about the Second Amendment and it’s not about the NRA. We need commonsense gun laws and this is a commonsense gun law that gives police officers new tools they need to help us protect our community.”

Any lawyer could tear stuff like this unconstitutional nonsense apart, but they never do, for whatever reason. Shall not be infringed is just too complicated, I suppose. If he's that much of a danger someone, or the public, lock him up for terroristic threat after a trial with an actual plaintiff with a cause of action. After he serves time, he should get his guns back.

While this fellow is clearly off his rocker and may be a danger to society, the greater implications need to be looked at. With the way this law is written it would be very easy for people to make false reports to leverage the court as a weapon against a gun owner.
While this case isn't the one to prove our point, we should also see how it resolves. I've read of cases where people have had their firearms confiscated and then proven not guilty of whatever accusations only to find that either the state illegally refuses to give the guns back or has already destroyed them.

It has only been posted here once because /k/ isn't a cuck emperor cult that deletes everything.

That's a pretty big difference with /pol/ anymore. What with mods deleting threads then crying spam or going spastic with word filters in a school shooting thread; and not bothering to look into the shooter online history at all, letting it be scrubbed clean.

>I'm still waiting for an explanation on how posting a clone of a thread several times isn't spam.
Look at this thread: It was only posted once on this board. Our /k/ moderation is not trying to guide discussions. We can share opinions on President Trump's actions, and we go about our day, instead of fighting the volunteers to get our opinion heard, we make conversation.
When someone posts a thread, that doesn't violate the rules, contains a legitimate topic, and it gets locked/anchored, it gets posted again because someone wants to talk about it.
After the first lock, and deletion without justification, it only signals to the users that it was either a mistake or the volunteers and/or board owners is picking a side on the topic. So the users post it again. The volunteers swat it down a second time and clears all doubt. After that, there will be spam because the users are infuriated and does it just to annoy the volunteers. Everyone else moves on to another board to talk about it, if one happens to be relevant, such as /k/. It can be called spam, but remember, the users didn't infringe on /pol/ first, /pol/'s volunteer team infringed on them.
That same treatment is what you find on leddit, where they will lock and delete content that threatens their advertiser friendly atmosphere they need to make money. Political correctness is promoted and the incorrect is swept under the rug because of Huxley consumerism good feels. I suspect that /pol/'s moderation really wants to carry on the momentum from the general election for same good feel reasons for the sake of political activism. Therefore, no big red text critical of President Trump is allowed.

I stopped browsing /pol/ waaay back when San Bernadino happened. When the mods started banning people for disagreeing on the necessity of the feds obtaining a warrant before accessing digital information, I knew that the staff would never again allow dissenting opinions regarding whatever flavor of modernist totalitarianism that they were officially endorsing in any given week.

from what i understand, this law means that you don't even have to be involuntarily committed. a police officer, family member, and possibly even a concerned citizen can raise a complaint about a person, and then if a judge says they aren't mentally fit to own guns, then boom cops seize them.
