A few months ago a jammed a romy wood stock into my AMD 63 to replace the stock polymer stock. I now want to replace it and get a folding zhukov stock because it looks cool. Opinions on the zhukov, and what would be the best way for a removing a jammed AK stock? I used a rubber mallet to get it in there. I know it was a mistake, I had never installed a wood stock at the time and thought it would be simple enough so I neglected doing research. Would have been better if had the foresight to file it down a tad, but the gun isn't damaged and combloc stocks are a dime a dozen anyways.

In what possible circumstance would this be a plausible scenario? I can't even imagine what it is you're trying to describe without a fair few contrivances. If you're expecting possible enrichment (and if you're carrying a rifle around I would assume you are), the gun is either going to be in your hands already, or hanging from a strap at around chest height, from where the grip is plenty accessible. The only case where you'd need to grab the gun from above, where the pistol grip wouldn't be accessible but a grip/stock would, is if the rifle is hanging horizontally from a strap around waist-level. And there is absolutely no reason hang your gun in this manner; since a pistol grip has better ergonomics in every other scenario besides your oddly specific one there's no reason to demand integrated stocks and grips on service rifles besides autism. And of course A E S T H E T I C S, but in service rifles that doesn't take priority over practicality.

because if you're firing it from a normal position it's way more ergonomic, it makes it easier to carry around at low ready for long periods of time, and much better weapon retention for CQB.
just practice shouldering and firing quickly instead of trying to fire from the hip.
of course a traditional grip/stock in wood is still damn sexy.

Pistol grips provide more control over the rife. Why would you be firing from the hip in the first place? That would be a rare scenario, and one in which the bad guy would be so close it wouldn't matter if you grip was twisted a bit or not.

The most normal position would by hipfire, though. From hands off your weapon strapped over your shoulders, quickly grabbing and aiming gun in general direction is best for target at your level, especially when you've got something messy, like a machine gun, unlike semi-auto rifle.
