Colorado has a magazine limitation on the books in theory, but in practice 95% of police forces have said they refuse to enforce the ban, and no one will bat and eye at the gun ranges so it only affects licensed dealers. How the fuck would a state that makes up less than 2% of the US population even enforce this shit?

774565 No.556059

>>555812

My thoughts exactly. These sort of threats have no bearing in large states like Texas and Jew York, but Minnesota has a tiny-ass population with 90% of it being focused around Minneapolis, so if someone were to start acting like the CIA or terrorists, this would probably quickly solve itself. Not that I or others here would do that.

>get away from this mentality.

Normally I would, but this is a rare case where the police force themselves are taking this shit up the court ladder to get it repealed because they don't believe in enforcing it, and because we don't have any sort of gun registry (banned by the Colorado constitution), you can literally go across the border to Wyoming, buy extended mags, and as long as they don't have something imprinted on them saying "manufactured after 2013," you can lie through your fucking teeth and say they were grandfathered in, and there's nothing the police can do to confiscate them. If you moved to Colorado from out-of-state, the 2013 shit doesn't even apply to you since you're already grandfathered into keeping them. This is one of those situations where it's on the books, but it's impossible to prove, and any cop who tries to arrest you for it will be ostracized by both the police department and the court systems since they'd have to video record you saying (like a retard) that you bought them out-of-state after 2013 in order to press charges, and even then with a good lawyer you could claim you were being coerced.

MN resident here - I was looking this over today and I didn't see any provisions that A) Protesting is a felony or B) that moving out of state requires destroying the firearms. I've seen that you can either destroy OR get them out of the state. But yes, this is ridiculous and I've written a little statement for my representatives:

>Good evening,

>As one of your constituents, it is my duty to inform you that I am vehemently opposed to this bill. This will do nothing to curb violence in this state, or country.

>According to FBI statistics, they report a total of 11,004 murders by firearm (this is an accurate representation, because this does not include suicide by firearm). Of those 11,004, 374 were murdered by rifles. Nationwide.

>In 2016, there were 101 murders/nonnegligent homicides in Minnesota. Of those there were a total of 60 murders by firearms, and of those, 2 were by rifles. It is not stated what kind of rifle, but for all we know they could be hunting rifles.

>This proposed bill not only infringes on the civil liberties of millions of law abiding citizens in Minnesota, but polarizes our communities.

I'm not sure what else I should add, but I feel that there is something missing at the end. Maybe contrast it with alcohol deaths?

Revised:

Good evening,

As one of your constituents, it is my duty to inform you that I am vehemently opposed to this bill. This will do nothing to curb violence in this state, or country.

According to FBI statistics, they report a total of 11,004 murders by firearm (this is an accurate representation, because this does not include suicide by firearm). Of those 11,004, 374 were murdered by rifles. Nationwide (1).

In 2016, there were 101 murders/nonnegligent homicides in Minnesota. Of those there were a total of 60 murders by firearms, and of those, 2 were by rifles. It is not stated what kind of rifle, but for all we know they could be hunting rifles (2).

In contrast, alcohol-related driving deaths accounted for 96 people dead in 2015 (3). Yet there are no bills in place to curb alcohol-related deaths. Alcohol isn't a right guaranteed by the constitution, but firearm ownership is. That right shall not be infringed. That alone should be reason enough to dismiss this bill with prejudice.

Signed,

Anon A. Anonson

>Alcohol isn't a right guaranteed by the constitution, but firearm ownership is.

They had to pass an amendment during that whole prohibition fiasco.

I think the mistake here, that many people are making, is arguing in good faith with these people. They do not care about saving lives.

Everyone responsible for pushing and supporting bills like this should be immediately recalled/expelled/resign and never voting into office again, anywhere. It's obviously an end run around due process in addition to infringement.

The question is, how are these people not seditious?

This is absurd. Blatantly unconstitutional, violating at least the 2nd and 4th amendments. If they want to pull some shit like this, then I suggest they propose an amendment to the Constitution, get 2/3 of the House and Senate to vote for it, then 3/4 of States to ratify it. If they can't do that, then they can fuck right off.
