And that's a big part of why people think race guns are ridiculous gimmicky shit. Power factor exists because cartridges that produce more recoil make it harder to shoot quickly and accurately, but you just slap a muzzle brake on there so you can play with the big boys. You've improved your score just by spending money, instead of learning to control the recoil - you may as well stop trying to kid yourself, and just turn up with a .22 next time. Power factor is a worthless measurement, and whether something is major or minor scoring should be determined by directly measuring the recoil impulse generated when then gun is fired. Prove me wrong.

except that's what they do. they stamp shit on a trigger that's not their own. do CNC work that apparently takes over 9 months to complete, and do some finishes. also they don't give you your RMR cover plate for your gucci glock. customer service is so bad at their company and their unprofessionalism is unrivaled.

They're specialised tools which have moved so far from their origins as a weapon that they can barely be considered one any more - they're the ceramic chef's knife of the firearm world. Sure, you could fuck somebody up with one, but that's not it's intended purpose any more and you'll probably break it. Keep a race gun as your CCW if you want, but don't come crying to me if it ends up jamming when you need it most because a single speck of dust got into the action.

Regardless, it's pretty obvious that everything I said in my post is in the context of a shooting contest. If Jamal & co. are getting so uppity that you're getting mugged in the middle of an ISPC match then I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah, you got that right. There's definitely guys who do need top-of-the-line guns specifically intended for competitions, but there's also guys just using good gear as a crutch instead of challenging themselves to get better. Essentially, my biggest gripe with these guns is that considering them to be weapons is kind of like considering Tai Chi a martial art. Sure, the core aspects are all there, but it's clearly gone in a different direction.
