To be fair by then the Kaiserreich will be what we today refer to as the EU. I hope that by this point we'd have seen more cooperation and coordination among the Anglo nations as well. The four powers would most likely be the German lead Europe, A Slavic Union lead by Emperor Putin the 47th, Some kind of East Asian Empire ruled from Beijing and the Anglosphere. Colonial wars would probably be treated as a separate sphere from domestic/Terran politics if only as a way to prevent a Nuclear Apocalypse back on Earth; although, with theoretically nigh infinite worlds to spread to that would be much less of a worrying proposition in this context and we could see MacArthurs dream of nuclear weapons becoming just another weapon in the arsenal, used as often as we use mortar shells today. We'd probably see slower military ships built of 50%+ armour hoping to tank the hits as they bear down on the planet they're trying to assault.

Not going to happen until later. I had a relative in the CAS Geoscience division station in Tibet in the 70s to the 90s. They did monitoring of earthquakes and tried to get a sense of the geological stability of the ground. I remember going through his diary and seeing a classified map of the geosensor location. It can still be stopped, if more nations pull out of the EU. I can understand the problems facing Eastern Europe, as their economies were built to be completely dependent on the EU leaving isn't much of an option for them until the EU gets elbow deep inside them and the economic crash becomes the less shitty option. If it goes through (as seems likely at this point) it will implode relatively swiftly, no more than 20-30 years after unification, and when it does that'll be more than enough to kick off world war 3 or possibly 4 by then.

South American (especially Brazilian) economic relevance has grown for the past fifteen years or so, and it would be reasonable to assume that it would continue to grow for the coming years (though how much and for how many years I cannot say). The governments in the region (at least the functional ones) naturally want to shift their economies from a commodities-based one to a more industrialized one, which is a realistic goal seeing as how outsourcing of production by multinationals will likely only grow.

Militarily speaking, South America isn't really relevant in a global scale. Sure, the armed forces of the region can wreck having among themselves, and Brazil at least can probably mobilize larger and better equipped forces than any African and many Middle-Eastern nations (not a very high bar, I know), but it's not like the region has a strategic location or strategic resources that can't be gotten somewhere else. Brazil in particular has at least seen some action with the deployment of army units in Rio de Janeiro to help with crime fighting, as well as the decades-long presence in Haiti for "humanitarian" reasons.

One of the forerunners in the coming presidential elections here is a reserve captain in the army, and as far as I know has always pushed for a modernization of our military forces (and increased wages). If he wins I wouldn't be surprised to see our military relevance increase in the global scale.

If WW3 really does break out, I wouldn't be surprised to see countries like Brazil coming out of it relatively unscathed and finding themselves in a very favorable position after the major powers have all been fucked up in one way or another. I don't really know what role the BRICS block would play in such a scenario. Would Russia and China be on the same side? Would Indian troops be deployed for area denial? That would probably be worth looking into, but I've already speculated more than I should.
