Besides the gameboy/DS series. What other gaming systems are popular with military people?

420054 No.546174

The System 52 is pretty popular.

Some chairforce network guys told me back in the day they'd run coax cables to play LAN games from the terminals they used to decrypt shit.

That’s a lotta effort for the chair force

>all that work to not do work

Is the Air Force really just a conglomerate of ironic shitposters?

Air Force was considered the feminist branch for a reason I guess.

>develop smart bombs so you can remove kebab more easily

>kebab develops advanced AA systems

>develop stealth technology to go back to removing kebab as usual

>now pilots are getting cocky because they can remove kebab with ease

>develop drones so chad pilots lose their jobs

>now all you do is sit in your basement dropping Hellfires and GBU-12s

Sounds like the average shitposter to me.

Knew some army guys who would play Halo 2 all day

Some guys in my Company has an XBox in their Stube. They play CoD all day until they get orders or they want to do some sports.

They also do all the usual soldiering shit, and they aren't bad either. They just grew bored of watching TV and kept started playing vidya in versus mode.

And they get paid 1000+Eurobucks for that. Living the life.

my cousins played a lot of halo and dead space when they were in the army. probably depended on where they were deployed, i dont know. I have a hard time imagining my cousin playing xbox when he was in Afghanistan.

Counter Strike. Brother met a Ranger in Iraq and brass splurged on giving em a bunch of PC's so they could operate after operating.

Platoon Sergeant played the xbox 360 when we had free time after patrols/missions.

Played D&D a couple times during my last deployment.

I had a PSP. Loaned it to another soldier because I had to stay back. Never saw it again. This was back in 2007/2008.

After a certain point we were not allowed to have thumbdrives, electronics, or computers of any kind unless we wanted them completely wiped after we were done with that segment of the deployment.

I hear the military intelligence bought a bunch of Playstations because the Japanese accidentally made an espionage grade CPU and their bright idea was to stick the damn thing into a game console.

That was the Air Force. They made a Beowulf cluster out of something like 300 PS3s when the PS3 was new-ish.

I remember someone posted a story somewhere years ago about how they flubbed a multi-million dollar surveillance operation because he was playing EVE Online on the base's systems and it crashed.
