I've messed with them before. Interesting concept, but not really sure how I feel about them overall. Holosun kinda ate their "always ready" lunch by bringing out red dots that have super long battery life PLUS solar panels. Even more so since quality red dots are dropping in price. It's basically an iron sight where you don't have to care about cheek welds. I've heard that people with older eyes (who can't switch focus as fast anymore) or astigmatism can find them easier to use than a red dot, but I'd ask around some forums first before running out to buy one for that purpose.
It works, and if I had to use one forever I wouldn't be upset, but from my limited experience the thing just doesn't have a clear cut niche where it dominates any other option. Not sure if you could even put a magnifier behind it.

They need something like a 1" riser to be at a proper eye level. OP's picture is retarded. You'd only be able to mount them without one on a gun with a classic stock, like a shotgun or something.

Oddly enough, it doesn't really work like that in person. You use it with both eyes open (in fact, it's the easiest sight to do this with that I've ever tried) and after getting used to it your brain sort of automatically compensates and it becomes pretty easy to it on target, and at the same time being aware of what's going on. It's really fucking weird and I don't know how best to describe it. I guess you could look straight ahead, and put a hand over one of your eyes. It doesn't really interfere too much with your vision.
