Most of South Korea's infrastructure and population centers are along the Northern border with North Korea. Likely after artillery bombing South Korea's government and cities into rubble, they'd roll in and pillage/rape everything within two weeks. At that point it's a matter of the Norks' soldiers morale. If they realize how good "western food" is when they're eating it because they have no food, they might go into full military defection mode, but chances are what'll happen is the Norks will turn the South Korean civilians into slave labor for farming, and try to take over the rest of South Korea to hold its shores as a strategic point. Big issue with North Korean artillery is it's hidden in the brush so we only know where maybe 30% of it is.

If the Norks can hold the Southern shores of South Korea AND conquer all of South Korea in under a month, they have a legitimate shot at keeping their gains since China would back them up when the US/Japan launch a counteroffensive. If North Korea can't conquer SK in a month, China will likely find it more pragmatic to "help" the United States out so that they can turn "New Korea" into a satellite nation to keep the US away from their borders. Point being, the Norks have a time frame of roughly 1 month to conquer everything (ESPECIALLY all shores), otherwise they die a dog's death.

Probably a remake of 1951 both gook armies are defensive in nature, it's dubious NK could push very far due to their own logistics and the fact that SK would have the defensive advantage + air superiority.

It would be bloodbath and a refugee nightmare though as a shit load of the SK population would be engulfed into the combat area.

SK and the US can't invade NK but the opposite is also true so that's not really on the table though.

The worst case scenario is the US decide to bomb NK nuclear/ICBM installations and NK decide to annihilate everything they can hit from their side of the border in retaliation.

You could turn it around, how many of the gigantic south korean slum populations would happily welcome the norks in liberators and would willingly participate in the slaughter of the SK quasi-nobility that is the image of SK westerners believe is the people of SK reality. Nearly 25% of the population has experienced homelessness, 50% of the elderly live in squalor, 10% of the female population practice prostitution (and nearly 50% has at least been paid once for sex. Hell combine the poverty of the elderly and the prostitution rate and you have something called "Bacchus ladies", fucking Google it).

Worst Korea is just as much a hellhole than Best Korea. It's just a different type of hellhole.

For starters, that's not fucking happening, especially not in the current situation where SK is extremely important to keep a leash on NK so they don't get insane nuking anyone.

I doubt NK could even feed their soldiers in all honesty. While NK has a shit ton of artillery and can destroy major cities, what else can they do? SK has a much stronger economy, can produce a lot more military equipment if needed and has a lot more advanced technology, both civilian and military.

If NK wanted to really do it then they would have to bomb all the cities to dust, attack instantly to take as much territory as possible, disable communications because SK is such a connected society and basically finish it in a month, then have to rebuild all those cities and take care of all those people because leaving a former warzone lawless is useless. Also, SK people know the truth of how bad NK is, and word can get around.

Absolutely, but consider that people in SK aren't literally getting shot for stealing rope. SK is bad, but to say it's as much of a hellhole as NK is just plain wrong.

Doesn't NK supposedly have some dead-man's switch system in place? I would suspect that if Kim realized he was about to lose everything, he would fire everything he's got all at once just to spite US + allies.
